William Coale
September 6, 2015Thanks, Steve, for this great tribute to GW, and the opportunity to speak to your listeners!
A few minor corrections and elucidations for you and your audience…
1) GW didn’t start at the NY Paramount until August, 1948 (his 1944 move to NYC was due to a transfer by NBC Radio)
2) The Jocelyn McNeil pseudonym was an homage to his first organ teacher, Inez McNeil of Stockton, CA
3) Guy Melendy (pronounced MEL-en-dy) was an homage to his good friend and fellow San Francisco organist June Melendy
Thanks again!!
