I actually enjoyed this podcast even though I am more into pipes
I kept relistening to The Devil’s Galop (liked it) and Devil’s Dance (loved it) and I swear that they are the same piece of music – are they?

  2. Stephen Ashley

Barry – thanks, that’s high praise indeed! I too prefer pipes but like an occasional electronic break, especially the older tracks.

As for the two “Devil” tracks, the Devil’s Galop was composed by Charles Williams in 1948 and the Devils’ Dance by Josef Hellmesberger, year unknown. It’s possible there are some similarities, as is often the case with musical composition, but I don’t hear anything specific.
