September 2020: A new header and a new shop front with no PayPal, which was charging me exorbitant fees. The new shop is now fully operational.
There’s a new Privacy page (under the About menu) and Cookie popup to conform to GDPR requirements.

There are two editions produced: the half-hour show which is broadcast on various stations is released every Monday at 12:00 CET, while the one-hour podcast is currently monthly, released around the middle of each month.

As of Half-Hour 251 and One-Hour edition 258, I will no longer be posting mp3 files, due to server space/cost issues and the extra work involved. ALL shows will only be available in the higher quality m4a format. If, because of legacy equipment, you can only listen to mp3s, there are free converters available, both online and with a downloaded application.

LATEST NEWS

23 September, 2020

To make space on the server, more mp3 versions have been archived into Dropbox. Details are on the show-list pages, which are now also available in the menu.

6 March, 2020

Half-Hour mp3 shows 75 to 125 have now been archived on Dropbox to save disc space on the server. The equivalent m4a versions have not been archived and are still available to be played directly from the playlist.

10 July, 2019:

I am delighted and very honoured to have received an Award Of Special Merit from the ATOS this year for my work on Hot Pipes.

4 June, 2019:
There is an inconsistency in Chrome in the way that the Download option under the playbars operates.

Mp3 files:
Left-clicking the Download link plays the file: you need to click on the 3 dots to the right of the resulting playbar to download.
Right-clicking gives the option to Save Link As in the location of your choice.

M4a files:
Left-clicking gives the option to save the file in the location of your choice.
Right-clicking gives the file a txt (text) extension, although the file is actually an m4a and will play correctly when the extension is changed to m4a.

I have raised the issue with Chrome so hopefully this will be fixed at some point.
Other browsers appear to be consistent, albeit that this feature behaves differently.

With thanks to Bill Gellhaus for spotting this!

11 March, 2019:
1. More shows are currently being archived to release space on the server: One Hour Podcasts 100-124 and Half-Hour Broadcast shows 51-74. At the suggestion of some listeners, I have reinstated the playlists for previously archived shows and added a link to the Dropbox archive on each playlist. Playlists will no longer be deleted – just the sound files.
2. The show links above are being changed to list the podcasts and broadcasts without all the “superfluous” text that currently makes navigation more difficult. You will now see a complete list of shows and their themes.

21 February, 2019: Additions to the Hot Pipes library have just taken the total track count over 60,000, of which over 42,000 are theatre pipe, with the remainder mostly electronic. Many thanks to all who have helped to make this possible!

4 December, 2018: Please consider donating to the Boardwalk Hall Organ CD project. The restoration team have been working flat out for some years to bring this behemoth back to full working order after decades of neglect. The team is now on the home stretch and it now needs another $4,000 of the £12,000 needed for the CD production. The Donation Form can be found here.

30 October, 2018: Added a list of the last 10 shows (that’s about one month’s) to the right of this page.

20 October, 2018: Half-hour shows 1 to 50 and 1-hour shows 55 to 99 have now been deleted from this website. If you wish to download and/or find playlists of those programmes, please go to the Archive page.
